To install/re-install the EndNote tab in Word
I am a user of the EndNote Web and recently I have downloaded the Cite While You Write plug-in for Mac. I have the MS Word 2016, but it failed to show the EndNote toolbar. It looks like you're using Internet Explorer 11 or older. This website works best with modern browsers such as the latest versions of Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge. If you use RefWorks to manage citations, and you have upgraded to Microsoft Office 2016 on your Mac, you may have found that a 'Write-N-Cite' add-in compatible with Word 2016 had not been available. RefWorks has since released a compatible version of their Word add-in, but it can only be installed via the Microsoft Add-In Store. Choose a citation style on the 'References' tab. When you click on the 'References' tab, you'll see the word 'Style' next to a drop-down menu. If you click on the drop-down menu, you can select the citation style you want to use for your references. Make sure the edition is the same as the one you need to use.

- Open Word 2010
- Click on the File tab in the left-hand corner.
- Click Options on the left-hand-side column/menu.
- When the Word Options window opens, click on Add-Ins in the left-hand column.
- In the Manage drop-down menu (bottom of main panel), select Disabled Items and click on the Go button.
- The EndNote add-in will show up as Add-in: cite while you write (endnote cwyw.dll)
- Highlight the EndNote add-in and select Enable
- Close the Disabled Items window
- At the bottom of the Word Options window, click OK.
- Close and re-open Word 2010.

- Close Microsoft Word then go to the EndNote X7 Program Files folder:

- Make sure Configure EndNote components is selected and click Next.
- Select Cite While You Write add-in for Microsoft Office and click Next.
- Click Finish.
Note: The message may read that the Configuration was cancelled. - Open Microsoft Word and look for the EndNote X7 tab in the ribbon.
